How to contribute

How to contribute to Game UI Wiki

This wiki is an open archive of game user interface screenshots. Anyone can help it grow!

Getting started

  1. Create an account and confirm your email address.
  2. After 1 day, your account is fully confirmed and you can create new pages.
  3. That's it - start adding screenshots!

Adding a new game

  1. Go to the search bar and type the name of the game you want to add.
  2. If no page exists, click "Create the page" in the search results.
  3. Copy the structure from Template:Game/Preload and paste it into the editor.
  4. Fill in the gallery sections with your screenshots.
  5. Add the correct categories at the top of the page (platform + genre).
  6. Click Publish when you're done.

Uploading screenshots

  • Use the Upload file link in the sidebar, or drag and drop images while editing (if supported).
  • Name your files clearly: GameName_SectionName.png (e.g., BaldursGate3_MainMenu.png).
  • Accepted formats: PNG, JPG, GIF.
  • Max upload size: 100 MB.

Page structure

Every game page should follow a consistent layout. The standard sections are:

  • Frontend - Title screen, main menu, login
  • Loading - Loading screens and transitions
  • Settings - All settings menus (video, audio, controls, accessibility)
  • HUD - In-game heads-up display
  • Menus - Full-screen in-game menus (inventory, map, quests, skill trees)
  • Modal - Popups, dialogs, confirmations
  • Credits - Credits screen

You don't need all sections - just add what's relevant to the game. Feel free to add extra sections (e.g., Photo Mode, Dialogue, Multiplayer) if the game has unique UI features.

Categories

Add categories to your page so it can be found. Common categories:

Platform: PC, Console, Mobile, Steam Deck, Roblox

Genre: RPG, FPS, Simulation, MMO, Survival, Open World

UI Features: HUD, Settings, Inventory, Map, Dialogue, Photo Mode, Crafting, Skill Tree

See all categories for the full list.

Tips

  • Take screenshots at the highest resolution you can.
  • Try to capture every screen and menu state - the more complete, the better.
  • Don't worry about being perfect. Other contributors can always add more later.
